Using a PC for a nameserver

We have just recently implemented a Windows 2003 server as a replacement for our nameserver in our AIX network. We have brought Windoze into the mix and AIX doesn't seem to serve the PCs well in regards to DNS.

Now, I have a filesystem on a 591 that times out with an RPC error {1831-019) when I try to mount the filesystem on the remote host. Other filesystems from other machines mount OK.

Can anyone educate me as to what is going on?

I can FTP, PING, traceroute has one hop, nslookup has one hop. The resolv.conf file points to the new nameserver, the netsvc.conf has one line "hosts=local, bind".

Help!
