Replace the battery and run this to stop the errors in your errpt. It will
reset the replacement timer.

ssa_format -l ssa<loop #> -b

ex. ssa_format -l ssa0 -b

Subject: Cache battery replacement for RAID adapter?

Folks,

I'm needing to get a battery replaced in a couple B80's that are attached to
a disk cabinet by 'Advanced SerialRAID Adapter' cards, and have the
FastWrite Cache option installed. I took a look at one, and it looks pretty
braindead to replace the batteries (assuming I can get them), but I was
wondering if anyone knows of anything that would need to be done before or
after the battery replacement, like do I need to flush the cache somehow, or
do something to it after I replace the battery...?

I'm missing the service guide for the card (and cache option), otherwise I'd
look it up myself. I believe the info *may* be in the 'Advanced SerialRAID
Adapter: User's Guide and Maintenance Information' booklet...

Anyone know offhand if I can replace the battery with impunity, or if I need
to go through some gyrations to not trash the SSA arrays I've got in the
disk cabinet?

Thanks...
