If you use HACMP, you will have to maintain the HACMP addresses in
/etc/hosts.
I would still maintain a minimal /etc/hosts, so that if the DNS is down, you
still don't have to remember a bunch of critical IP addresses.

At the moment, most of our AIX boxes (nearly all of which are SP2 nodes, but

document on DNS for SP2, and it all looks pretty straight forward.
Are there likely to be any unexpected pitfalls?
Do those of you using DNS have a very small, fairly static /etc/hosts file
or do you continue to maintain it as before?
We haven't yet made up our minds whether to do this. What reasons can you
think of for and against, besides removing the administrative overhead of
maintaining /etc/hosts?
