Hi all,
Our security guy wants us to change the community string in the /etc/snmpd.conf. The community string must not contain
of public, private and system.When I changed the community strings to something else, the /usr/tmp/snmpd.log keep on generating following error (tons of it) until the filesystem full.
06/25/03 15:47:00 EXCEPTIONS: authentication error: invalid community name: public
SNMP is running on port 199/smux and it looks like that dpid2 and sp_configd are connected to this port.
The questions :
1) How can i change the community string in the snmp config without affecting other processes that talk/connects to the port 199/smux.
2) What is dpid2 and sp_configd, can I turn off this process/daemon?
My os is 4.3.3.0
