Is it just as simple as setting TERM=vt100 or smitty tty and set to vt100?

Have you tried it of just in planning stages?

I have used reflections terminal emulator as vt100 just fine.

Subject: [aix-l] console

We have a console server I'd like to configure an IBM 630 running AIX 5.2
to use. The console server basically emulates a dumb vt100 like terminal.
It looks to me like the IBM 630 is set up to only use an IBM 3151 type
console.

In the User's Guide for the 630, Appendix C lists "general attributes
required when using a tty terminal" and says "The following general
attributes are the default settings for the diagnostic programs. Be sure
your terminal is set to these attributes." Then it lists settings for
3151, 3161, and 3164 consoles. Does this preclude using a vt100 type
terminal for a console?

However, in the man page for chcons, there is an example for:
chcons /dev/lft0
except that I don't have a /dev/lft0 listed in /dev.

Can anyone shed some further light on this for me?

Thanks, Nadine
