I guess I don't share your enthusiasm with regard to
whether or not management follows the recommendations
of the technical folks.

In my environment (a Fortune 500 IT oursourcer with
lots of AIX clients), the application people and the
customers make the decisions on which OS they plan to
use, generally. Yes, that's not really the way it
should work, but that's the way it is...

Now, maybe this is all for naught, but I can see
distinct possibilities where it can affect things...
