I'll venture to say
yes
no*
* The de-install probably will require a reboot, but not an immediate one.
It can be scheduled.

| Subject: Removing Perftbox on AIX51 |
>-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Hi all;
The AIX 51 version of Performance Toolbox was "acquired" and installed on a
p630 several months ago. The client has now decided that they do not wish
to purchase the product as it has nearly trippled in price. My question is
two-fold:
1) Will a 'smitty deinstall' work to fully rid this server of this
Perftoolbox software? - As several kernal parameters are/were altered
during the install.
2) Do you think the deinstall of the software requires a reboot - as the
install did?
Thanks in advance for the assistance!
Theresa
