We had something weird like that due to our /dev/ipldevice pointing to the
wrong device.

Subject: bootlist on P655 with AIX 5.2
Importance: High

We have some new P655's. We NIM'ed them with a common AIX 5.2 image.... No
problem.

Now we want to re-NIM them and we got an error. We tracked it down to not
being able to set the bootlist for normal mode.

Here is the error we get is:

> bootlist -m normal hdisk0
0514-221 bootlist: Unable to make boot device list for hdisk0

We can set it to a ethernet card (ent0, ent2, etc.)

Any help would be appreciated. When we NIM'ed first time, we set all this
in SMS and pulled it down fine. What have we screwed up?
