The reason you can is your hardware is 64bit, but an H50 is not 64bit.

You can run 64bit apps on 64bit hardware if AIX is 32bit or 64bit.

But your hardware must be 64bit.

Funny you should ask this question as we just test it on AIX433 (haven't
tested on 511 yet)

We have successfully installed:

Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Production.

on one of our 9076-550 SP nodes running 64 bit hardware w/ a 32 bit kernal.

We're now getting ready to see if our 64bit Tivoli Client will backup our
64/32 bit Oracle databases....should be a good time!
