with cde? i've seen this if you've got bind, hosts in your /etc/netsvc.conf file, instead of the other way around. It's trying to resolv its own hostname...make sure the host name (long and short) are in /etc/hosts and that it's resolving using the hosts file first.

Users that login via X-Windows are reporting long delays while attempting to login. Are there any settings that I should be aware of that may be causing this? This is a fresh install of AIX 5.1 with all system defaults(no real changes as of yet). I am at the latest Maintenance release - 03. Any suggestions anyone can offer is greatly appreciated.
