if you have perl installed:
perl -pi.old -e 's/\n//' filename

this will create a backup copy of the file called filename.old with no
changes, and make the appropriate changes in the file called filename.

I believe tr could also do the same thing (and probably shorter and faster).

many lines into one single line .

Is there any command to do that ? We canīt use "vi" because
the file is very large and the process is scheduled .
