I am unable to install nmon. I downloaded the file
nmon8b.tar.Z to my PC and used FTP to do a binary
transfer to the root of my RS6K. The installation
instructions state:
Copy the nmon8b.tar.Z file to the AIX RS/6000
Run tar xvf nmon.tar
The above command does not work (A file...does not
exist) and the command tar -xvf nmon8b.tar.Z
produces this error:
tar: 0511-169 A directory checksum error on media; 0
not equal to 47469.
What am I doing wrong? TIA.
