Can someone please provide me with a breakdown of system requirements
for an AIX 5.1 and 5.2 installation.
The following is from the 5.2 Release notes.
AIX 5.1:
RAM: 64mb
DISK: / - 8mb
/usr - 385mb
/var - 4mb
/tmp - 20mb
/opt - 4mb
/proc - no size mentioned here, but it does consume disk
space
hd6 - 64mb
AIX 5.2:
RAM: 128mb
DISK: / - 16mb
/usr - 720mb
/var - 16mb
/tmp - 24mb
/opt - 24mb
/proc - no size mentioned here, but it does consume disk
space
hd6 - 512mb
Release Notes state that 2.2gb of disk space is required for an AIX 5.2
install,
but the above only adds up to 1312mb. I know that some of the remaining
space
is used by /proc (aprox. 300-400mb) and /home (2mb), but what about the
remaining 500mb? Is this excise 500mb assume to be for additional that a
user
may want to install?
Also, I could not find anywhere the total disk requirements for AIX 5.1.
Does anyone
know what this value is? AIX 5.2 is 2.2gb, AIX 5.1 is ???????
Thank you,
Ron Schwingel
