Hi Simon,

The dates that I was using are from marketing materials. I've asked the
question of IBM and the response is as follows:

        For AIX 5.1
Service will be discontinued on 30/04/2004.
Withdrawal from marketing normally occurs before this but has
not yet been announced for AIX 5.1 - but the roadmap shows that wfm is
planned for 1Q 2004.
        Likewise, for AIX 5.2
Service will be discontinued on 30/09/2006.
Withdrawal from marketing normally occurs before this but has
not yet been announced for AIX 5.2 - but the roadmap shows that wfm is
planned for 4Q 2005.
However, please note that these dates from our Technical Sales
Manual are INDICATIVE at present and are very liable to change or be
extended.

I'm sorry for jumping the gun with the marketing stuff, but it arrived
from IBM last week.

Kind Regards,

Can you provide a source for that?

The web site which has us all concerned is an IBM site and the
date it shows for 4.3.3 is the end of support, NOT end of marketing.

I'd be thrilled if AIX 5.1 support will continue into 2005, but
that does not appear to be the case.

             Gent's,

The end of marketing for AIX 5.1 is mid 1st quarter
2004, while program services are available until mid 1st quarter 2005.
