It is supported, but only with PSSP 3.5.
The older MCA nodes won't work with it; the same could be true for some
Control Workstations, (but nothing recent).
PSSP 3.5 will co-exist with lower levels of PSSP, (down to 3.1.1, at least;
I'm not sure about 2.x) and AIX 4.3.3/5.1.
For details of valid configurations, including PSSP coexistence PTFs and AIX
maintenance levels, go to

...and take a look at "Read This First" (GI10-0641-xx) for the relevant
version of PSSP.
