no, obviously it is not as fast as FC. that is not the point. I am looking
at it particularly in the wintel space for cheap connectivity. If I have 100
tinker-toy windows boxes, I don't want to buy 200 HBAs. I want to buy 100
HBAs and use the iSCSI link as failover. Where this also looks promising is
in the engineering graphics shops(UNIX desktops with a need for access to
large storage at low cost).

get me wrong, iSCSI is going to be an important way to perform some tasks
that would be very difficult or very expensive with Fibre Channel. It just
doesn't seem that it is as fast as FC at this point in time.
