aio servers are allocated when the load makes it necessary.
they are never released, even if they are never used again.
you need to reboot.

Subject: refresh aioservers

Hello all:

I had 2 Oracle databases in my AIX 4.3.3.0-10 system. One of them ( database A ) had the parameter disk_async_io to true and the other ( database B ) to false. Now we had changed this and the database that had the disk_async_io to true ( database A ) is now to false ( and restarted the database )and the other ( database B ) has changed this parameter to true ( and restarted the database ). When I search for the kproc processes, I can see that the owner of the database A owns all the kproc processes, and the owner of the database B hasn't got anyone. We haven't restarted the to databases together, we restarted first database B and some hours later the database A. Why doesn't have the database B owner kproc processes ? When does it processes refresh ?

TIA.
