unmount that nfs mount and remount,
stop start nfs,
may need to stopsrc -g nfs, stopsrc -s portmap, rm /etc/sm*, start it up again.
exportfs -a on that remote nfs server.
Stuff like that.

Subject: mkcd fails with 0512-039, 0512-040, among others

Hi all.

B50 running AIX 4.3.3

I use the following to create bootable mksyb images to
disk:

/usr/sbin/mkcd -S -I/mksysb/images/$HOST
-M/mksysb/$HOST/target -C/mksysb/$HOST/fs -e

/mksysb is an NFS mounted filesystem that resides on
another server.

Note that I HAVE done this before, and successfully.

However, today I get:
.....
91808 of 91808 files (100%)
0512-005 mksysb: Backup Completed.
The backup command completed with errors.
The messages displayed on Standard Error
        contained additional information.
0512-039 mksysb: WARNING:
/mksysb/server/target/mksysb_31186 does not appear to
be a tape device and
will NOT have a bootable image.
backup: 0511-432 A write error occurred: Error 0
backup: 0511-079 The backup media may be damaged.
Use a different disk to run the backup.
0512-040 mksysb: WARNING:
/mksysb/server/target/mksysb_31186 does not appear to
be a tape device and
does NOT have a bootable image.
0512-300 mkcd: Error in routine: manage_mksysb.
cp: /etc/filesystems.31186.new: A file or directory in
the path name does not exist.
rm: /etc/filesystems.31186.orig: A file or directory
in the path name does not exist.
rm: /etc/filesystems.31186.new: A file or directory in
the path name does not exist.
Cleaning up...

The IBM Messages manual is a bit vague on these
errors, and in some cases, I can't find reference to
them at all.

Not getting any errors in errpt on either server.

Any clues as to what is wrong and why??
