We installed Informix in a 4.3.3 ml10 box, but i don't think i've brought a
box TO ml10 with informix on it. did you try just setting the password for
the informix user?

We had problem starting Informix on our SAP database server (RS/6000 SP wide
node) after updating AIX 4.3.3 ML02 to ML to 10. We had updated AIX ML in
APPLIED mode with SAVE REPLACED FILE option set to yes. After switching over
to user id Informix using SU mechanism and ran the command "oninit" to start
Informix, the error was
Failed to find passwd information for user id '3200'
where the user id 3200 belongs to Informix user and this user is member of
Informix group. All the checks were carried out for user Informix in user
security related files and no problem was found.
We applied AIX APAR IY31050 and it showed "All filesets installed for
IY31050" , but no success. We rejected all filesets in "APPLIED MODE" and
restarted the server. On restarting the server, Informix started immediately
without any problem and subsequently successfully started SAP.
Has anyone faced this problem ?
