Hi,

What type of console are you using, if your using PC with hperterm then the
console cable need to be special or the serial connecter needs to specially
made for IBM as it uses different ping out on serial cable.

Speak to IBM sales people and ask for connector they should give you
information, where to purchase them.

if you need pin layout for connectors let me know I can fax the details.

If you use this type of connector then it will work, because I had same
problem.
