Provided the empty slot was included in the LPAR, just run cfgmgr. If
you're at 5.2 you can add the slot to the LPAR dynamically.

Once the card is in, is it immediately available to an LPAR? IOW, do you
cfgmgr on the lpar, and it picks it up, or do you allocate the hardware to
the LPAR and cfgmgr, or do you have to bounce an LPAR to make the hardware
available to it?
