This would not normally be recommended. Whilst it's OK to have different
levels of AIX during migration to a newer versions, that's not intended to
be supported as a long-term situation.

I would strongly encourage you to leave your systems at 4.3.3.10 until you
can upgrade them both to 5.1.

I am not aware of any particular problems that you will encounter, but I
doubt very much if anyone has run in that sort of environment for more than
a week or so, and if you get any problems IBM won't be terribly sympathetic.

If you really must do this, then take particular care researching the
compatibility of the RSCT filesets and check the HACMP documentation
thoroughly; look in the sections on software upgrades, as that's one place
it may deal with running with different versions.

Anyone out there running a cluster with a 5.1 Box Cascaded with a 4.3.3.10
Box?

Due to software constraints we may have to stay on 4.3.3.10 but will be
going to 5.1 on the other node.
