AIX upgrade from 4.2.1 to 5.x

Quick question:

I have a S70 running AIX 4.2.1. Do I have to upgrade to version 4.3.3
and then to version 5.2? or

Can I go straight to 5.2? I have a vendor that says I need to go to
4.3.3 first and then 5.x. I was hoping

That I could go straight to 5.x.
