Look at the boot log or errpt. Check conslog as well.

Folks,

Just for grins, I decided to comment out rc.tcpip and rc.nfs from inittab

I also ran cfgmgr -v.

Now, it's hanging at

"System initialization complete"

LED is black

Network device info:

I have a token ring cable plugged into the interface

I have 2 ethernet cables unplugged

I am using a "lightwave terminal" to access the system
