Klaus,

Since you did not use chps to increase the paging space and used extendlv to
increase the hd6 logical volume. the command "swapon /dev/hd6" will tell the
system to use that extra space instead of the reboot you did specially if
this is a production system. But I understood from your question when you
used "lsps -a" to see the total paging space size that you have only one
/dev/hd6. Wouldn't be better for you to consider adding a another paging
space or more on another disks in order to distribute paging activity on two
or more physical disks ?

Subject: Paging Space Question

Hi *

i increased the ps of an AIX box using "extendlv hd6 48 hdisk0". "lsps -a"
shows the correct size (2048MB now). However, "nmon" still displays 512.0MB
as virtual memory. Does the box need a reboot?

Thank's
Klaus
