No, I'm saying the easiest thing to do is save it in the format you desire
(text) from the native application (Excel), especially if this is a one-time
type of exercise. It seems that others on the list have suggested some
AIX-based courses of action, but, based on the inputs, the solutions sound
somewhat iffy, and certainly more difficult than my suggestion.

It'd probably be better to save it as a text file in Excel.

I have a file which is in Excel and it resides in the network -
I have to convert into a text file using AIX. Is it possible ?
Can someone throw some light or tips...
It is the text file that I have to bring it to the database.
