Subject: Mod perl question/problem
I am having trouble with Mod perl. After installing it, a line is
put into the Apache config file, which in turn gives error messages when
trying to stop/start Apache. Message below.
circman4:/usr/local/apache2/bin-->apachectl stop
Syntax error on line 230 of /usr/local/apache2/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /usr/local/apache2/modules/libperl.so into server: Cannot
run a file that does not have a valid format.
Without the mod perl Apache runs fine.
The versions are as follows.
freeware.apache.mod_perl.rte 1.25.0.0 COMMITTED Perl module for
Apache
freeware.apache.rte 2.0.40.0 COMMITTED Apache 2
HTTP server
AIX 5.1 ML2
Downloaded Apache and Mod perl from Bull site, installed with
Smitty/installp.
Any pointers appreciated.
