I thought that was a function of the device drive software. AIX 4.3.3 with
ESS and SDD ( sub system device driver ) supports failover & load balancing.
I would think EMC had a similar product.

Does AIX 5L LVM provide channel fail over capabilities between HBA's. I know
it was not available in AIX 4x but I am not sure about 5. Any pointers are
