Re: savevg or makesysb turing operation hours

I run a majority of my mksysb/savevg's during the day on our production server - *most of the time* I encounter no problems, if I do encounter an error - I just run it again until the backup is clean. However, I wrote a script that saves all my savevg's to a directory located in the rootvg, then the mksysb backs everything up - so I don't have to mess with the "rmt0.1" with the savevg backups.

Thanks;
Theresa

Is it possible, or recommended to run a savevg or a makesysb during
hours of operation?

Would it cause problems?

We only have 1 tape drive and nobody is here in the wee hours of the
night to switch tapes.

Thanks!!
Adam
