nmon will let you capture to a file similar to sar.

nmon will do some things that topas will not, like show aio and adapter use.

nmon appears to do more and is a work in progress.

There is a related package to nmon that will let you create excel
spreadsheet charts.

For Topas you must be root, but for nmon you don't need to be if you make
/dev/kmem readonly by others.

nmon is a little flakey in adjusting to sreen sizes and changes.

Topas comes with AIX and is supported.
