Re: Locked rootvg

The pre-existent lock was put there by something. Do you know what it was
?

Did you try 'synclvodm -v rootvg' ?

If the speed of light is 299792458 m / s, what is the speed of dark?

I thought that chfs failed "because" of the lock on rootvg (the lock was
pre-existent).

I tryed redefinevg (as suggested by Simon) but the result was:

# redefinevg -d hdisk0 rootvg
0516-574 redefinevg: Volume Group name rootvg is already used.
0516-621 redefinevg: The Device Configuration Database is inconsistent.
Execute exportvg rootvg followed by importvg to synchronize
        the database.
# lsvg -o
vgfnclpatch
(... more vg's ...)
0516-304 : Unable to find device id 000f8baf3322d3af in the Device
        Configuration Database.
vgid=000f8baf3322d3af
#
# redefinevg -i 000f8baf3322d3af rootvg
0516-574 redefinevg: Volume Group name rootvg is already used.
0516-621 redefinevg: The Device Configuration Database is inconsistent.
Execute exportvg rootvg followed by importvg to synchronize
        the database.

#

The question, now, is: can I execute an exportvg/importvg without problems
for data (is it safe...)?

Thanks

Ignacio
