Why would you try to delete it ? Lots of things use the loopback device.
It is a fundamental part of the local machine's TCP/IP stack.

I guess I'm not completely sure what the function of the loop back, lo0 is?
AIX won't let me delete it, so its being used.

My HTTP Server has high lo0 loop back activity? Nmon option 'n' is showing
395.0 Peak->Recv and Trans for Lo0. HTTP login times are timing out, on
occasion.
