absolutely. take my install for instance...I have two servers,
identical in configuration. Both dual-attached to a FastT600. I have
the db datafiles on the fastt600, and the executables. If I want to do
maintenance on the main db server, i take an outage, vary off the vgs on
the fastt, move the ownership to the other box, import the vgs and
launch oracle server...boom, i've failed over to a different box. i do
my maintenance and at the next outage window, reverse the process.
