Hi

I am trying to configure AIX level printer for SAP. The printer queue has
been defined in /etc/qconfig as follows:-

vk:
        device = @vicky
        up = TRUE
        host = vicky
        s_statfilter = /usr/lib/lpd/bsdshort
        l_statfilter = /usr/lib/lpd/bsdlong
        rq = lpt1
@vicky:
        backend = /usr/lib/lpd/rembak -T3 -C -D /tmp/spl

where vicky is the remote host i.e. a PC with Win2000 running and Tally 6100
printer is locally attached to the PC via LPT1 and it is defined as lpt1.
The PC is running SAPLPD daemon with SAPLPD screen visible on the machine.
However after firing the print job, I get status in lpstat as CONNECT and
after sometime it goes to down state and a message is displayed as

Message from queueing system:
0781-088 Queue vk:@vicky went down, job is still queued:
  Backend: /usr/lib/lpd/rembak -T3 -C -D /tmp/spl -S vicky -P lpt1 \
           -N /usr/lib/lpd/bsdshort /var/spool/qdaemon/tx.sMUa
  Backend Exit Value: EXITFATAL (0100)
  Job Submit Time: Aug 7 16:05:43 2002. Current Time: Aug 7 16:08:44 2002
Use local problem reporting procedures.

Finally I want to define this printer in SAP using "L" method.

Can someone help me out ?
