Hello all. We have just received a new 6400 IBM Line printer with a network
interface. I have set up plenty of these things parallel and serial but
never through the Ethernet interface. Does anyone have a suggestion as to
how to configure it so I can print "Directly to the printer" if I need to
rather then sending it through the print queue? The print queue works fine
but there are occasions where I would have to print "hot" to the printer.
There is no corresponding /dev file for this printer right now (because it
is directly on the Ethernet network), unlike a portserver, where the printer
would actually have a corresponding /dev file.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
