you don't necesserily have to take the card offline. you can apply your
changes to database (look at smitty chgenet) and
reboot afterward. this is something you can definitely do through script.
just, you may reboot, don't you?

well, in order to change those settings, you have to take the card
offline....then change the settings, then bring it back up. Unless you
have
two cards in that box and can come in one, change the other, and vice
versa,
all you'll accomplish is to disable the network card...not exactly what you
had in mind.

Can anyone tell me if its possible to change SMS settings on a remote
machine?
The machines I want to change are 43P-150 and 170s. The settings I'd like
to change concern network card configuration: mediaspeed and duplex
setting.

If it is possible, I'm hoping to use it in a script, as I need to change
100+ machines.
