Bill,

I have a P-690 with 3 LPARs as well

Here's my stats:

LPAR 1:

proc5 Defined 00-05 Processor
proc7 Available 00-07 Processor

LPAR2:

proc2 Available 00-02 Processor
proc3 Available 00-03 Processor
proc4 Available 00-04 Processor
proc7 Defined 00-07 Processor
proc5 Available 00-05 Processor

LPAR3:

proc0 Available 00-00 Processor
proc1 Available 00-01 Processor
proc6 Available 00-06 Processor

It appears that, on my system, proc7 is being used by LPAR1 but can be
utilized by LPAR2
                                                           proc5 is being
used by LPAR2 but can be used by LPAR1

Does this make sense?

I've a P-670 with 3 LPAR's defined. Why do I have this condition on one of
my LPAR's ?

root-siebddb:/etc>lsdev -Cc processor
proc1 Defined 00-01 Processor
proc0 Available 00-00 Processor
root-siebddb:/etc>

One of the CPU's is "Defined", one is "Available".

Thanks
