you'll need oracle parallel server for true redundancy...

Subject: Oracle DB redundancy? HACMP??

Enviro:

Two H70s, AIX 4.3.3.10
4GB memory, 4 processors
4 drawers of SSA disks
Oracle 8, Oracle DBs=~60GB

We have been running Oracle on AIX for some 3 years now, moving from H50s
to H70s.

We want to design redundancy for our Production Oracle db.

Not being familiar w/HACMP, would this be one of the solutions for Oracle
DB redundancy??

What other ways are there to make an Oracle db redundant??

We also were thinking about having an separate Oracle "Hotspare" RS/6000
off-line, getting periodic updates from the Oracle Production db, ready to
be used with minimal start-up time.

All suggestions are appreciated.
